This year is going to be a great year. I decided to kick off my Talin’s Table dinner series this month. What is this I speak of? Talin’s Table is an exclusive dinner experience for groups of 6 at a time. The experience is a place for people to come and enjoy a five course meal. The idea is to show people how valuable they are by presenting an invite-only, high caliber dinner.
I have been inspired by many people and chefs. One of the chefs that have left a big impression on me is Chef Thomas Keller from the restaurant The French Laundry. I have recently started reading his cookbook and something he wrote spoke true to the heartbeat of Talin’s Table. It’s the first line of his book,
When you acknowledge, as you must, that there is no such thing as perfect food, only the idea of it, then the real purpose of striving toward perfection becomes clear: to make people happy. That’s what cooking is all about.
This is exactly part of my purpose with hosting Talin’s Table. Each meal that comes to the table is a part of me meeting a part of you. It’s the joy of me preparing a beautiful dish and setting it before you and saying, “you’re valued” with every bite you take.
I hope that these dinners would also inspire others to do creative things to show the world their worth. That’s all we really ask for isn’t it?
