Oh how I love gnocchi. If you give me a bowl of gnocchi everyday, I will eat it all with a huge smile on my face. My dad called me last night on my way home from work asking what I was up to. He said that he has some shrimp he’s making and wants me to come up with something to make with it. I told him I would be there in 15 minutes and to put a pot of water of the stove to boil.
My dad makes the best shrimp. He starts out putting the shrimp in a pan and sautés in very little olive oil. Once the shrimp is cooked, he adds butter… LOTS of butter. the butter thickens and in go the parsley and garlic. The garlic becomes aromatic, and the whole house smells uh-may-zing! Lastly, a great splash of some white wine until it all clumps together on the shrimps and makes a delicious sauce.
So, I get there and of course, the house smells great, and the water is boiling on the stove. So I quickly put a pack of gnocchi in the water for 3 1/2 minutes (until one floats to the top). I quickly take them out of the water so they don’t over cook, and finish it all off in the pan of shrimp.
Doesn’t that make your mouth water?!
